GSO 2026 Concerto Competition

The Germantown Symphony Orchestra's 2026 Dr. Ronald F. Vernon Young Artists Concerto Competition, was held at Circle Music in Memphis on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

The Competition is open to young pianists, guitarists, and band/orchestral instrumentalists 18 years or younger at the time of the audition, with a home address within Shelby, Fayette and Tipton counties in Tennessee. 

With numerous competition applicants, we applaud the commitment of all competitors. We also acknowledge the dedication of the competitors' teachers and families for the effort they extended to help the competitors reach their goals.

Congratulations to the 2026 winners:

• Sophia Vo performing the Piano Concerto No. 2 in G Minor, Op. 22 by Saint-Saënz.
• Ashton Carter performing the Viola Concerto, Mvt. 1 by Walton. 
• Levi Lei performing the Cello Concerto No. 1  by Saint-Saënz.
• Myles Martin performing theViola Concerto in D Major, Op. 1 by Stamitz.

Competition winners receive a $500 Music Camp/School or Independent Study scholarship and may perform with GSO during the 2026-27 concert season.
