2018 Young Artists Concert
featuring winners of the Germantown Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition

Saturday, October 6, 2018 7:00 p.m.
​Featuring three Young Artists from the 18th Annual Germantown Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition --  Basil Alter, violin; Ella Golden, violin; and Yuka Yang, Piano – performing their winning selections with the GSO.  The GSO will also perform Haydn Symphony 22 “Philosopher”;  Johann Strauss “Die Fledermaus Overture” and Saint-Seans “Danse Bacchanale” from Samson and Dalila.

Basil Alter

Hailed by the Commercial Appeal as a "Teenage Virtuoso," Basil Alter, 18, is the violinist of the University of Memphis's Contemporary Chamber Players under Karman Ince.

Ella Golden

Ella Golden began violin study at age 7 at the Bellvue School of Performing Arts.  As an award-winning violinist, Ella is a regular performer for church services and outreach events.

Yuka Terada Yang
Yuka Terada Yang

Yuka Terada Yang, 13, of Germantown, is an 8th grade student at Houston Middle School.  She has studied piano since age four and is an award-winning student of Dr. Yukido Whitehead.
