Wang/Rodgers Piano Duo

Diane Wang and Stacy Rodgers, Pianists

This husband-and-wife team has been performing the great works of the piano four-hand and two-piano repertoire in concert since 1986. They bring a spontaneity and freshness of inspiration to their performance that makes each one memorable. Attention to detail, perfection of ensemble, sensitivity to nuance, and virtuosity are hallmarks of their style.

DIANE WANG, a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, received degrees from Indiana University, the University of texas at Austin and has pursued doctoral studies leading to the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Her major teachers include Sidney Foster, Harald Logan and Bela Siki. Miss Wang has an impressive record of performances as a recitalist and soloist with orchestra, with performances throughout the U.S. as well as in China and Mexico. As a collaborative pianist she performs regularly with the Sara Isom and Grace trios, as well as with her husband Stacy Rodgers in this piano duo. She is currently Coordinator of the Keyboard Musicianship cirriculum and Instructor of Piano at the University of Mississippi.

STACY RODGERS is Associate Professor of Piano and Head of Keyboard Studies and Accmpanying at The University of Mississippi in Oxford. A Texas native, he holds degrees from Southern Methodist University and the University of Texas at Austin. Major teachers in performance and pedagogy include Lita Guerra, Amanda Vick Lethco, Jean Barr, Harris Crohn, Louise Bianchi, and David Karp. In addition to his regular teaching duties Mr. Rodgers is active in pedagogical research and teacher training, and heads The University of Mississippi's Community Music School. He is a founding member of The Oxford Piano Trio, another ensemble featured on the Mississippi Arts Commission's Artist Roster. As a solo pianist, accompanist, and chamber musician, he performs thirty concerts annually.
