Love Is In the Air Concert

featuring Marie-Stéphane Bernard
Germantown Performing Arts Center
Sunday, February 13, 2022 5:00 p.m.
Listen to a 12-minute WKNO Checking on the Arts interview  of GSO music director Dr. Ron Vernon, soloist Marie-Stéphane Bernard by WKNO's Kacky Walton.  Recorded on Feb. 9, 2022.
Let us help you make Valentine's Day special this year!  Joining the Germantown Symphony Orchestra on the eve of Valentine's Day, will be opera singer and current Memphian, Marie-Stéphane Bernard.

Ms. Bernard will be singing arias from some of the greatest French operas, including Saint-Saëns' Samson and Delilah, Bizet's Carmen, and Massenet's Werther.  She will also be performing classic selections from French popular song, epitomized by Edith Pilaf.  The GSO will be complementing Ms. Bernard's solos with instrumental selections from the same operas, as well as some orchestral settings of romantic melodies.

A French native, Bernard studied in Rome, Paris and Indiana, launching an international career singing in Italy, France, Asia and the United States.

Round out Valentine's Day Eve at an elegant reception in the lobby of GPAC.  Join GSO orchestra members, soloist Marie-Stéphane, and other concert-goers for hors d’oeuvres and a lovely French wine.
