Ann Kendall Ray, Cello

GSO Member Since 1986
Favorite GSO Memory: Getting soaked in Savannah, TN several years ago when a sudden thunderstorm poured on us at the Cherry Mansion, and several of us were huddled under a tent set up by the caterers. When the rain slacked up, we made it to the bus and played the concert at the high school. A few lucky people made it to the porch of the house as the rain started, and were not quite as wet!
What do you do when you're not playing in the GSO? Came to Memphis to teach at Southwestern (Rhodes) - music history classes, faculty string quartet - 1966-1972. Still love playing chamber music, and play with friends whenever I can.
Hobbies and interests? Currently, I sing in the choir at Grace-St. Luke's and play in the GSO. Am a long-time member of the Camerata Music Club, past president of the Concerts International board and a Memphis Symphony subscriber. Also serve on the board of Luna Nova, which sponsors the Belvedere Festival every June.
